Those that Fear God Are:

11. Given the Ability to Excel (Come forth of the all)
Ec 7:18 It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all.

12. Given a Treasure

Isa 33:6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

13. Given Life and Peace

Mal 2:5 My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name.

14. Given Houses

Ex 1:17 But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.

Ex 1:20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.

God dealt well with these midwives because they feared God and protected the people of God.

Ex 1:21 And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.

God blessed them with houses because they feared Him.

15. Preserved Alive

De 6:24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

Again, we see that the LORD expected His children to fear Him.

In fact, He expects all mankind to fear Him.

When we do, He will bless.

He told the children of Israel that if they feared Him He would preserve their life.

16. Delivered from Enemies

2Ki 17:39 But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.

God promised to deliver those who fear Him from their enemies.

When you fear God, He will fight for you.

He is there to conquer your enemies.

This would include the spiritual enemies, too.

17. Blessed in their Labours

Job 1:8 Job was a man who feared God.

Job 1:9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

Job 1:10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

Satan too recognized that Job feared God.

BUT Satan also saw that God had blessed Job.

God had put a hedge about him and his house

and blessed the works of his hands.

Job obviously worked with his hands

and God blessed his work much because of his fear.

Job, a man who feared God

was blessed in his labours.

18. Given Wisdom & Understanding

Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

The fear of the Lord is wisdom.

Pr 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Pr 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom

and the instruction of wisdom.

If you want God to bless you with wisdom

you need to fear Him.

Ps 25:12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

When you fear God

He will teach you in His choicest ways.

There are many paths you can take in life.

You can go in many directions.

BUT the way of the Lord is taught to those who fear Him.

God will show you the best path for your life

but you must fear Him before He does.

Those that Fear God Are:

1. Blessed by the LORD

Ps 115:13 He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.

2. Pitied by the LORD

Ps 103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

3. Given Meat

Ps 111:5 He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.

4. Fulfilled

Ps 145:19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

5. Taken Pleasure by the LORD

Ps 147:11 The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

6. Given Health

Pr 3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

Pr 3:8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

7. Rewarded

Pr 13:13 Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

8. Given Strong Confidence

Pr 14:26 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

Ps 115:11 Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

9. Given Honour & Life

Pr 22:4 By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.

10. Promised Praise

Pr 31:30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Psalms 119:1-3 ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.

Proverbs 2:1-11 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

Temptation

When you’re in temptation…

1. Watch and pray. Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

2. Depend on Christ for help. 2 Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

3. Use your sword and shield. Matthew 4:1-11 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

4. Find the way to escape. 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

5. Take the way to escape. Genesis 39:7-12 And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me. But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her. And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within. And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.

Joseph found a way to escape and took that way.

6. Wait on the Lord. (Joshua 7) If Achan had waited he could have had all the spoil he wanted from A-I than what he stole. If we resist temptation, we will have a better reward than if we hadn’t resisted.

Faith

1. We are to live in faith. Galatians 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

2. We should ask the Lord to increase our faith. Luke 17:5 “And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.”

3. We should stay in faith. 1 Corinthians 16:13 “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.”

And we need faith to…

1. Get saved. Romans 5:1 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”

2. Please God. Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

3. Quench the fiery darts of the wicked. Ephesians 6:16 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”

Some people in the Bible who had faith:

A centurion. Matthew 8:5-10 “And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.”

A woman with a blood issue. Mark 5:25-34 “And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.”

Stephen. Acts 6:8 “And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.”

And Abraham. Hebrews 11:17 “By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,”

A Study on charity

Some of the definitions for charity are “Chistian love” and “love in action”. First of all, in 1 Cor. 13:13, it shows us that charity is important: “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” Next, the beginning of the chapter says we are nothing without charity. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.” Charity also edifies. 1 Corinthians 8:1 “Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.” Then 1 Timothy 4:12 “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” This verse shows us that we youth shouldn’t let people think that we can’t do anything because we can; we can be an example “…of the believers, in word, in conversation,…” …and in charity! Here’s just a list of other verses with the word charity in them: 1 Timothy 1:5 “Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:” Colossians 3:12-14 “Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.” and 2 Timothy 2:22 “Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” And here is the last and most important one: 1 Cor. 13:8 “Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.” Charity never fails. Other things fail, but charity isn’t on the list of failures!
